Summer Knitting

Well, it’s summer time once again, an all too short season in Canada. It’s a fact that knitters do fewer projects during the summer months. You hear all sorts of reasons for not knitting  – “doesn’t it make you feel hot, knitting with wool?” or “I’m outdoors a lot doing other work, like gardening”. Granted, I understand the need to get outdoors after a long winter, but if you are a diehard knitter, it doesn’t matter what time of year it is.

I enjoy nothing more than sitting outside, under an umbrella with a cool drink and my knitting. So relaxing! Portable projects are ideal at this time of year such as socks, scarves, and lacy wraps. I am going to knit myself up some more Turkish Bed Socks from Churchmouse Yarns and Teas – which can be worn in your shoes or clogs at this time of year.

I hope you get the chance to relax or try a new knitting project in your favourite summer time location.

Happy Knitting!
