I love the name of this long-line cardigan, Dover Duster; some fashion books would name it a “duster cardigan”. The historic costume term “duster” was a light, loose fitting coat worn by horsemen and early 20th century car drivers to protect their clothing from the dust kicked up by the trails, or from behind the open vehicle. Anyways, I’ve always wanted a long, sweater coat, but never have I knit one for myself. The Dover Duster by Blue Sky Fibers is a beautiful version of one. The yarn for this style needs to be light and lofty, so the garment drapes without elongating. I think it’s time to make one for myself.
